Supporting partners and leaders to design and implement democratic processes that help them make the best decisions. Strengthening institutional capacity to allow space for diverse insights on how we can make positive changes in our communities and places.
When making changes which will impact local communities, involving local voices is crucial to ensuring those changes are positive for everyone.
With a view to existing theory and structures, we work with stakeholders to design processes that strengthen their democratic practice.
We support organisations to build effective structures, so that their democratic processes are meaningfully including local voices.

Community Leadership Panel
There are so many people in Bristol who have skin in the game when it comes to the climate and social issues. We worked with Bristol Climate & Nature Partnership to give some of those leaders a seat at the table.

Democracy in City Leap
The City Leap partnership is a key step in Bristol’s journey towards becoming carbon neutral. We explored how this could be an opportunity to put democracy and justice at the heart of our city’s Net Zero strategy.

WESTACT
We know that transport is one of the biggest hurdles in Bristol’s response to the climate emergency. Emilia’s time with WESTACT outside of Praxis Research works to jump that hurdle, and platform unheard voices in transport conversations in the West of England.
